Chartered on October 4, 1967, the department is composed of over 35 members who serve the area citizens of Willow City, as well as Crabapple, Eckert, Rheingold, and many other surrounding communities, including working mutual aid calls on fires with Llano and Johnson City VFDs across the Gillespie County line.
The Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department regularly meets once a week at 7:00 p.m. at the station. The first Wednesday of the month the general membership business meetings are held. Thursdays of the month are designated for worknights, training programs, drills and recertifications.
