History:

This church was organized December 11, 1948,by pastor H.E. Lambert, with eight members. The dedication service was conducted by the state youth director, Rev. Fred C. Jernigan.

The church building was a 28 by 46 foot block structure which cost around $3,000 to build. The Lord blessed with a 7 acre plot of ground, donated by Mr. Roger Lee Bates of Birmingham.

Mr. Spivey of Forbes Piano Music Company helped to make the dedication a blessing to many people by bringing a nice piano from Birmingham. The little church was free of debt.

They bought new factory built pews that were really nice. About 200 people were here for the opening and dedicatory service. They raised $161, which they thanked God for.

Quite a bit of remodeling has been done since the first church was built. The church is now brick with nice padded pews. Just recently we have been remodeling our fellowship hall.

It was formerly block with a concrete floor, but with the efforts of the church memebers, we now have sheet rock and paneling, porceline tile, trim, fresh paint, new ceiling fans, and we are currently in the process of adding new cabinets. Still with all that has been done over all the years, we are still debt free, and once again, we are thankful to God.
