Town of Loxley

1089 South Hickory Street
251-964-5162

First settled around 1904 as a logging community in the virgin forests of Baldwin County, the Town of Loxley has established itself as one of the fastest growing towns in the fastest growing county in Alabama. The town is located on convenient north-south(AL 59, I-65), east-west(I-10, US 90) corridors that allow distributors and light industry easy access to regional and national commercial areas.

The town is conveniently located in the center of Baldwin County, only five miles away from a major mall and minutes away from other commercial centers, providing its residents ease of shopping. Two moderate urban areas, Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, are less than an hour away, fulfilling needs not met by local resources.

Loxley is part of Baldwin County and as we have mentioned earlier Baldwin County is rated as the fastest growing county in Alabama. It is ranked in U. S. Census Bureau's 2006 Top 100 Fastest Growing Counties in America with a population increase of 3.8% annually. The Loxley area is at the center of all of that growth. Baldwin's Eastern Shore Communities of Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort and Montrose are quickly being saturated, so the growth is moving east. Pensacola, Florida's growth has increased and many people there are looking west for solutions. The south part of Baldwin County, on Alabama Highway 59, has quickly grown, forcing the growth to move to the north. The logical center for the growth to hit is Central Baldwin County, Loxley, the sleepy little bedroom community of the past, in particular.

Baldwin County is literally surrounded on all sides by water, either in the form of rivers, bay, lakes, or the Gulf of Mexico. Much of Baldwin County has a history of fishing as a commercial venture. Loxley residents can get to any of the variety of water venues in under an hour. Sunbathing is also a local pasttime worth considering with some of the finest beaches on the Gulf Coast available for those who want the best fun in the sun. The beaches are forty-five minutes away via the Foley Beach Express. Loxley is also with an hour of some of the finest golf anywhere with offerings for any lifestyle, from moderate income to very wealthy. Most of the golf course in Baldwin County are open to the Public.
