Where we've been ... and where we're going

Founded in 1881 as a land-grant university, SDSU has always been committed to the academic and professional advancement of all the citizens in the state. As South Dakota's flagship university and largest comprehensive institution, we're dedicated to improving our state and our nation through teaching, research, and extension activities. Toward that end, we provide exceptional academic, professional, co-curricular, and recreational programs for students pursuing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.
