Phoebus High School Band Booster Club

100 Ireland Street

The Phoebus High School Band
The PHS Marching Band is the pride of our community. Under the direction of Mr. James Stanley, the 110 member high stepping band performs at football games, special events, competitions and parades. The band also proudly performs as the home band to Northrop Grumman Newport News Apprentice School at sporting events throughout the school year.

After the football season, concentraton begins on the concert and jazz bands where performances are held at the Winter and Spring conerts. Last year the PHS jazz band performed at the opening ceremony for Hampton Convention Center, a City Council meeting and at Hampton's Mill Point Jazz Series.

The PHS Marching and Concert Bands performed at the Gator Bowl, Jacksonville, FL, in 2004 and represented the State of Virginia at the commemoration celebration of the 60th Anniversary of WWII in New York last Spring. During the Spring of 2006 school year, the PHS Marching Band will travel to Winchester, VA to participate in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Parade.

About Us
The PHS Band Booster Club exists to assist in band events, functions and activities. Booster activities include promoting the band's public awareness, organizing fundraisers, assisting with uniform distribution before and after events, chaperoning during games and events and helping Mr. Stanley and the Students throughout the school year as necessary. We are a driving force in helping the band remain successful during the school year.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Phoebus High School Band Boosters is to support the activities and promote interest in all Phoebus High School Band and Auxiliary programs.
