About Us:

Memphis ISD is a small rural district located in the southeast corner of the Texas Panhandle between Childress and Clarendon on Highway 287. Memphis is mostly an agricultural community with a population of 2400. We have 4 campuses throughout the district: Travis Elementary serves PK – 2nd grade, Austin Elementary serves 3rd – 5th grade, Memphis Middle School serves 6th – 8th grade and Memphis High School serves 9th – 12th grade. Memphis ISD has been through two consolidations, one with the Estelline School and the other with the Lakeview School. MISD is committed to making Memphis children competitive in the global economy of the 21st century.
