About Us
Grand Lake Area Historical Society was formed in 1973 to preserve and protect the only remaining log hotel built in Grand Lake prior to 1900. This nonprofit organization maintains the Kauffman House Museum --built in 1892 and operated as a hotel until 1946 by the Kauffman family. A gallery was added in 1990 to house additional exhibits
