Mission

To provide leadership in improving quality of life, promoting civic responsibility and fostering economic development in the Goodlettsville area.  The Goodlettsville Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to serving our community by strengthening the business environment.

History

The Goodlettsville Area Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1961 by a group of local merchants seeking to develop a prosperous business community three years after the City of Goodlettsville incorporated.

Approximately 70 charter members recognized a golden opportunity for the chamber, the city and the community to join hands and improve the quality of life for both current and future residents.

The Goodlettsville Chamber continues on its journey and has grown to over 400 members.

In September 2013 the Chamber moved from the historic Bank Building to the Old Main Court Building on Main Street, in the heart of the original downtown business district. Built in the mid 1960’s, this building first housed Denton’s Furniture and Appliance Store, and adjoined the historic Main Street stores that included Dardon’s Pharmacy, Oscar Brooks Men’s Store, B.F. Myers Dry Goods and others.

This was the heart of Goodlettsville as the town transitioned from a rural farming community to a city that relied more heavily on commerce. Businesses were established in a row, clustered up and down Main Street.

Today this strip is a mixture of antique malls and small businesses.
