About us:

The Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1982 with 10 members and Hoyt Dodd serving as fire chief. The first fire engine was purchased in september 1982 with a grant and monies raised from the first annual Eldridge day which continues to benefit the fire department. One of the many honors the department has received was in 1993 when Raymond Gilder Kelley was chosen walker county's outstanding volunteer firefighter of the year for his dedication and faithful service to the department. Presently the department has 2 fire engines, a brush truck, fire car and a 4-wheel drive truck. There are now 28 members with Ralph Title serving as fire chief.
