Mission :

The vision of the Dauphin Island Foundation is to preserve and promote the environmental integrity and beauty of Dauphin Island by encouraging thoughtful development of the community as a setting for family life, recreation, and commerce centered on its rich natural and historic assets.

Purpose :

The purpose of the Foundation is to cultivate unified action by all individual and organized members of the community toward achieving the Foundation's mission.

Activities :

Solicit contributions of goods, services, real property, and money in the form of grants, contracts, endowments, donations and volunteer work to:

Provide technical, communications, financial, and other support to organizations and individuals already advancing the Foundation's missions.

Originate and support new organizations to further the Foundation's mission.

Provide a forum for ongoing dialogue and mutual assistance between groups and individuals supporting the Foundation's mission.
Sustain activities of the Foundation.

History :

 The Foundation was founded in 1991 employing Dauphin Island volunteers and resources with organizational assistance provided by the Auburn University Economic Development Institute.
