Mission:

As followers of Christ Jesus, who is the eternal light and the Holy Apostles, we, the parish community of the Church of St. Joseph in Aston, Pennsylvania, rely on our brothers and sisters to recognize God's presence in all of us. As children of our heavenly father, we desire to follow in His footsteps by listening to His word and reconciling our selves to carry out His mission on earth.

We are a Christian community of compassion and love, striving to serve in a spirit of joy and peace in exemplifying faith, hope and charity.

We, therefore, commit and pledge ourselves to:

Worship God unceasingly in thought, word and action through daily prayer, frequent celebration of the Eucharist and adherence to the sacraments and Sacred Scriptures.

Develop and nurture a Parish community that demonstrates a sharing of the life of Christ and brings the Christian spirit to its own members, other parishes and society in general.

Teach the message of Christ as He has taught us.

Serve all those in need by constant works of spiritual and corporal mercy and promoting good will in all.

We further pledge ourselves to follow the charity of Joseph and the obedience of Mary for the glory and honor of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit guide us as we proceed with our mission.  Mary, Mother of Our Lord God, intercede for us and enlighten us in all our thoughts, words and actions.  Saint Joseph, our parish patron, aid our parish family as you did the Holy Family at Nazareth.

Our Commitment:

A church is a building.  What gives it life and makes it a sacred place is God's presence as His faithful people gather together to worship.  We've grown from the hundred or so early parishioners working hard to build the original church to 1,900 families or 7,000 people today.  We stand ready and willing to work together so that the heart and soul of our religious community - our parish church - will be our legacy for the generations to come.
