What We Believe

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."    Romans 10: 9-10

You are welcome at Christ United Methodist Church no matter where you are on your faith journey. While affirming foundational Christian truths, we understand that at times we must wrestle with our faith to grow in our understanding of God. Here you will find a diversity of theological viewpoints. We believe by being open and sharing our faith stories, we can encourage each other and grow in our spiritual walk.

We believe in the triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God created men and women to be in intimate relationship with Him, but as sinful beings, we estranged ourselves from God and wreaked havoc on His created order. We believe God loves us so much, He came to earth as a man to save us from the consequences of our sins, which is eternal separation from God. We believe Christ bore our sins when He died on the cross and rose again. We believe we can be resurrected with Him into a new life if we confess our sinfulness and ask Jesus to be Lord of our lives. We believe this new life begins here on earth with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who continues to transform us into the likeness of Christ.
