Byhalia United Methodist Church

2511 Church Street
662-838-2237

Mission:

We are nurturing children and youth into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Belief:

We believe that the church of Jesus Christ exists in and for the world. The Flame is one body of that exalted group that worships Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The prayers and intentions of The Flame are for obedience to the will of God. We serve our Lord humbly in spite of our present brokenness. We praise God in gratitude for the opportunities to serve Him.

Values:

The Flame is a community of believers under the Lord-ship of Jesus Christ. We are a redeemed and redeeming fellowship in which the Word of God is preached by persons divinely called. Under the discipline of the Holy Spirit the Flame seeks to provide for the maintenance of worship, the edification of believers and the redemption of the world.

History:

This is a United methodist congregation founded in 1855-56 but rebuilt after a fire destroyed our facility on January 13, 2001. Today our community and church are growing faster than ever.

We completed our new facility, The Flame, in February of 2007, where we have our contemporary worship, house our youth programs and host many other activities including community functions and annual concert series that have included contemporary Christian artists Big Daddy Weave, Natalie Grant, Jimmy Needham, Ashmont Hill, 33 Miles, the morning on-air personality of American Family Radio, J.J. Jasper and many more.

The Flame is located directly south of the original sanctuary and parking is available all around The Flame as well as across Church street (north side) of the original sanctuary
