Student Tuition Rate to be determined by Family Income

Pasco County's Catholic High School, Bishop McLaughlin, announced a significant change in its tuition structure. Effective for the 2014/2015 academic year, the school has eliminated the one tuition for all students model and replaced it with a tiered structure based on family income. The new structure is being implemented for the sole purpose of providing a Christ-centered Catholic education to all students, including those who lack the financial means to afford the school's full tuition amount. The Diocese of St. Petersburg and Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School are instituting this dramatic change in response to the number of students seeking the private school education, qualifying for admission but not registering due to financial concerns. The high school welcomes students of all faiths who will also be offered the variable tuition rates.

Bishop McLaughlin's Principal, Kristen Kant, as well as the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Alberto Matos, are excited to introduce this unique method of determining tuition to our region's high school students. It is believed that this tuition structure is unique to the area and presents a greater opportunity to offer an exceptional education to all students. According to Mrs. Kant, "We are so pleased to initiate this new structure as it will allow many more families the opportunity to provide their children with a faith-filled Catholic education of the highest caliber."
