About Us:

The Presbyterian denomination is a form of Christianity democratically organized to embrace the faith common to all Christians.

Presbyterians recognize two sacraments:

Baptism unites us with Jesus Christ and makes us members of God’s family, the Church.  Baptism is an initiation into the church community, as ordered by Christ; is a public confession; does not guarantee access to heaven – unbaptized people are not denied salvation; can be performed in another church.

Communion is a time to renew faith and strengthen participants for the duties and privileges of Christian service.  In Communion, the bread and wide represent the sacrificial body and blood of Christ and recall the last meal shared with the Apostles.  Together they symbolize the New Covenant between God and all people.

The basic beliefs of Presbyterians are expressed in the Apostle’s Creed and elaborated in our confessional documents throughout history:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heave, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
