The Silverton Arts Festival 2023

Arts and Entertainment

July 31, 2023

From: Silverton Arts Festival

Our goal for The Silverton Arts Festival is to celebrate the virtuoso talents of our finest local and regional artists, as well as to provide the public and our selected exhibitors with a show of the highest quality. The site, historic Coolidge-McClaine Park in the heart of Silverton, on the banks of Silver Creek, is a beautiful area surrounded by towering oak and Douglas-fir trees. It is a popular summer gathering place and a wonderful setting for the festival.

POETRY ACTIVITIES

All activities are free and open to the public!

SCHEDULE FOR BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

11:00-12:00 Poet's Writing Process (11-12 pm): Bring a poem to share and discuss your unique writing process. What inspires you? Which authors have influenced your writing? Let's delve into the creative journey together. We'll also have guest poets joining us to share their insights.

Favorite Poetry (1-2 pm): Bring along a favorite poem that's not your own and talk about why it resonates with you. This activity is inspired by Robert Pinsky's National Favorite Poem Project, and it's a wonderful opportunity to explore the power of poetry that moves us.

Haiku Session (3-4 pm): Share several Haiku poems, whether they're your creations or from other poets, and engage in discussions about the elements that make Haiku so captivating. Alternatively, you can simply sit back, listen, and enjoy the beauty of this concise form of expression.
