MADISON, Wis. — Democratic Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Joe Oslund released the following statement in response to the announcement of Rep. Byron Donalds as a speaker at the Republican Party of Wisconsin Convention:

“This weekend, MAGA loyalist Rep. Byron Donalds will take a quick break from his role in Trump’s New York City circus to visit Wisconsin, all to increase his chances of beating out the other election-denying, freedom-restricting, job-killing clowns on Trump’s VP list.

“Rep. Donalds’ visit to Wisconsin is nothing but another example of Trump using one of his puppets to push his extreme agenda of banning abortion, attacking democracy, and pushing political violence on our state. It underscores that the Republican Party of Wisconsin has been wholly co-opted by the same MAGA extremism that Wisconsinites have rejected at the ballot box again and again.”
