Hello fans and friends of the Center Theatre,

Let’s start out with good news and then we’ll move on to even better news! We’ve been able to reschedule Buster Keaton’s Steamboat Bill, Jr. with live accompaniment by Doug Protsik! The event will now take place on Sunday, April 30th at 2pm. Tickets are on sale now, so don’t delay!

In new-event news we just added two concerts that are both ends of the musical spectrum. On May 13th at 7pm we have one of those wild things that happens now and then in our community. One of the hottest DJs in the Netherlands will be in the area and will be hosting an all-ages dance party at Central Hall. He goes by the name R3LOAD (think “Reload”) and you can check him out by searching @R3LOADMUSIC.

And if electronic dance music isn’t your thing, could I interest you in one of the best bluegrass bands in the state? Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection will be live at the Center Theatre on Friday, May 26th.

Of course, we’ve got great movies coming up too! And don’t forget we’re collecting food for the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Center. We’re trying to fill all the seats in the auditorium by April 7th. You can drop off food or donations at the Theatre or make donations online by clicking right here.

And we’re still looking for people 18+ this summer to be one of our AmeriCorps Summer Vista Associates.

A Tribute to James Taylor
Maine’s own Barney Martin returns to the Center Theatre stage to perform his tribute to James Taylor and the singer/songwriters of the 1970’s. The first 150 advance tickets will also receive a free Maine pine seedling in honor of Arbor Day, April 28th.

Erica Brown and the BlueGrass Connection

Erica Brown and The Bluegrass Connection is a five-piece band featuring some of the finest musicians in New England. The band features award winning fiddler and singer Erica Brown, Matt Shipman on mandolin, Lincoln Meyers on guitar, Eli Gilbert on banjo and Kris Day on bass. A fun and energetic band, they incorporate a unique and diverse blend of original and traditional music from their Bluegrass, Folk and Country influences.

R3LOAD
Sometimes crazy things happen in Dover-Foxcroft - like a red-hot DJ from the Netherlands passing through and giving an all ages dance-party! Be at Central Hall on Saturday, July 29th from 7pm to 9pm for R3LOAD! Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or online at centertheatre.org. The event is at Central Hall, 152 East Main St., in Dover-Foxcroft (across from Walgreens).

Free High School After School Program

Do you have a theatrical or artistic kid? Or one that is into lights, sound, and video? Or all of the above? Our after school program is for them. Our Theater and Arts program is for High School students interested in learning new skills and exploring their existing talents.

The program will be taught by by Derrick Buschmann (Theater) and Michelle Fagan(Art). ?Monday and other days as the schedule permits will focus on artistic projects and Tuesday through Thursday will be for Theater. Friday is an open day where kids can come to the Theatre to work on art or theater projects, homework, and/or not do anything very productive at all :-)
