A vessel is drawn in the first part of the creation which holds words of love and encouragement that come up during the guided meditation. This is the first part of the workshop. The second part expands to include others. Small groups are formed and there is a guided “get to know you” discussion for a time. During this process, more statements are added to the paper, and each person in the group taking time to write something encouraging about one another. Everyone's unique marker color shows the statements made in a rainbow of kindness. There is one more round where groups are rearranged and each person is able to meet new people. Once the workshop is complete, everyone has their own love-filled artwork creation to take home. Every time I've done this workshop, I love seeing the community and kindness it builds. I also love hearing and seeing where people place their encouragement artworks when they get home

9:45am -10:45am: Transcend and Include: Spirituality after a Christian Foundation - Josiah McElmurry - Luna Tent

This workshop will largely pull from the teachings of Richard Rohr on what it means to have a faith practice that grows as you grow, instead of leaving it all behind after outgrowing your childhood faith. All are welcome, but this will be particularly oriented to those who had a Christian upbringing but have since deconstructed, and perhaps reinvented, what it all means. I will share some from my experience as well as the many wise teachings of those who have come before me, but the majority of our time will be spent collectively exploring what has stuck with us, what we might want to reintroduce, and what we've let go of. We will look at Rohr's teaching on the two halves of life, the first being identity and structure building, the second being spiritual awakening and breaking out of small, dualistic thinking. Through this lens we can identify those things about our backgrounds that we can have gratitude for, instead of dwelling on bitterness or regret. Additionally we can consider those ideologies, biblical teachings, and moral rules that were passed along to us through no fault of our own, and what it means to look critically at these things so they are authentic to our evolving beliefs and practices. We will also explore the realm of Christian mysticism and finding God in a more contemplative way, one that falls in line with many of the teachings of the Buddha, as well as Jesus and other spiritual leaders in history. My hope is that everyone that desires to share feels the freedom to do that openly. In this sharing we can process these things together that are so healing to speak out loud with people that have shared experiences, and also learn from people that are coming from different places.

You will be guided to connect with the sacred fire inside you that can restore, ground, and guide you. Drumming and singing bowls will be played to further anchor in your restorative experience.

11:00am - 12:30pm: ReWild Your Soul: Exploring Your Inner Wilds with Dancing Freedom - Maggie Rossell - Redfoot Stage & Silent Disco

Let's step into the wild of our own bodies, deep into the forest of our souls. Let your animal self emerge, and move as a child of the earth, crawling, snarling, and howling along side all of our relations. Let us celebrate the wonder of existence and praise the diversity of this wild planet as our feet pound our beautiful Mother Earth in danced prayers of gratitude and healing.

The wild lives within us. If we have the courage to step forward. Dancing Freedom takes us on a journey of embodied self discovery as we follow a "wave" of sound through the 5 elements. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether create our container as we let our bodies lead the way. Dancing Freedom is a yoga of movement, at once somatic, shamanic and ecstatic. It is a transformative dance modality (and a VERY fun dance party, to boot).
