Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Nicki Kopassis Insurance a 2024 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Live Like Warriors, a nonprofit organization who supports children and their families while experiencing pediatric cancer and whose mission is to fight for a life worth living. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for Live Like Warriors which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.

Throughout the month of May, the Nicki Kopassis Insurance and Live Like Warriors community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/Nicki-Kopassis-Insurance-Agency,  where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.

It all started with a video of a young boy, Ollie, battling aggressive cancer and reaching out to his favorite monster truck driver, Bryce Kenny. Bryce made requests to friends to go online, and purchase Lego sets and mini monster trucks for him to take with him.

The nonprofit was soon thereafter created, and Bryce now hosts a fundraising event complete with a car show to help raise funds for families in need. The $10,000 donation will allow the organization to help children and their families experience a commercial break while battling pediatric cancer.  It will also help get the word out for others to join in the fight and fill the needs of these deserving families.

“We are honored and incredibly grateful for being awarded the 2024 Make More Happen Award so we can continue to help our community,” said Nicki Kopassis, agency owner and president of Nicki Kopassis Insurance. “Live Like Warriors has had a significant impact in our local communities and are thrilled to double the donation with community support.”

Agency owner Nicki Kopassis is very familiar with the monster truck world.  Her husband, Alex Blackwell, was a professional monster truck driver.  Together, they volunteer by joining other drivers and doing a “meet and greet” to sign autographs and merchandise for fans. They also bring their classic cars to be a part of the car show – over 250 cars were in the show last year. Nicki Kopassis Insurance also provides cash donations and is a part of the Live Like Warriors Army, a community of warriors that work together to impact others and fill needs.

Throughout 2024, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
