Creates Universal Recognition of Occupational Licenses

Baton Rouge, LA - This week, the Louisiana Legislature passed Senate Bill 60, which provides for universal recognition of occupational licenses throughout Louisiana. This long-awaited bill received bipartisan support in both the House and Senate and will be signed by Governor Landry.

This bill finally levels the playing field between Louisiana and other states. For years, we have allowed other states to pass us in job growth and occupational mobility, causing our population to dwindle. SB 60 removes barriers to employment and welcomes home all the skilled professionals who have been looking for the best place to build their careers and lives.

“From day one, I have said we need to bring people back to Louisiana. In order to do this, we must provide incentives and reasons for people to want to call Louisiana their home. Senate Bill 60 prioritizes our skilled professionals and removes barriers of employment in our State. I am grateful to Senator Pressly, Representative Owen, and both chambers of the legislature for getting the job done. I look forward to signing this bill into law,” said Governor Jeff Landry.
