Friends of CALS Used Book Sales Continue

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is gearing up for the second Friends of CALS Used Book Sales for 2022. This sale is a two-part event spanning the weekend of July 7 through 9, including a preview for Friends members on Thursday taking place at the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square and the traditional event open to the public in the Main Library basement Friday and Saturday. 

Used Book Sale hours are 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, July 9. The book sale will take place in the basement of CALS Main Library, 100 Rock Street. Friends of CALS members can shop early Thursday, July 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friends members also receive 50% off gently read books at the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square on July 7 during regular business hours (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.). Friends of CALS memberships may be purchased anytime online at cals.org/about-friends, in-person during the book sale, or at any CALS branch. 

Most books at the Used Book Sale are priced at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. Book totes will be available for purchase as well. The revenue generated will go to the Friends of CALS fund to support the Six Bridges Book Festival, book club kits, Arkansas Sounds concerts, branch programs, Summer Reading Club, youth programs, and various library activities. For the July sale, educators will receive a 25% discount on books; school identification required.
