From: City of Cocoa

Beginning in February, the boat ramps, Captain Ed Lanni T-Dock, day slips and boat parking at Lee Wenner Park were closed for a large dredging and restoration project which was funded through grants from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND). The project included dredging of the boat ramps to allow for larger vessels to access the basin.

The FIND grants valued at over $500,000 included a match from the City of Cocoa in partnership with the Cocoa Community Redevelopment Agency. The project included restoration of the boat ramps including new aluminum finger piers and dredging of the entire basin to include areas near the Captain Ed Lanni T-Dock and near the boat ramps. Previously the basin was about 5 and ½ to 6 feet deep and this project brought areas of the basin to about 7 feet deep. This allows larger vessels such as Intracoastal Cruisers to access portions of the waterfront at Lee Wenner Park and enjoy Historic Cocoa Village.
