Job Summary: Assists in maintaining the City’s Information Technology network, hardware and software, website, servers, email, telephony and other associated technologies. Assists the IT Director with technology related tasks and users with technology issues and questions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in maintaining computer networks and related computing environments, including desktop and server hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, and repair / replace defective components and interface with vendors as necessary.
- Participate in developing plans, schedules and requirements for the deployment and lifecycle of systems.
- Assist in monitoring and implementing network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Provide Technical Support to both in house and remote users.
- Assist in maintaining the City’s landline and cell phone systems, copiers and document imaging systems.
- Assist in ensuring the security of City technology assets.
- Support in the development of appropriate technology solutions for information delivery and/or work environments.
- Help maintain City website including web design.
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) AND Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or a closely related field.
- At least three (2) years of related experience.
- OR Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- No felony convictions (CJIS Information Security Requirement)

Additional Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Needed:
- Knowledge of information technology concepts and principles, computer systems, network and software, software development, design, and architecture.
- Skills in task management and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively and see issues through to completion.
- Ability to speak effectively and courteously with citizens, business professionals, state and federal officials, and employees of the City while developing cooperative and continuing relationships.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to multi-task, good organizational skills and protect and ability maintain confidential information.
- Skills in SQL Databases, Active Directory, VMWare, networking technologies (VLAN’s firewalls, VPN, DNS) are a plus.
