Schedule of Events:

November 9, 2023:

6:30 pm - 7:30 pm: Hedgehoppers

Get ready for a heartwarming tradition that’s been going strong for over 70 years – the Hedgehoppers! This class of third graders from Eureka Springs performs a traditional Ozark dance and song, preserving a form of Ozark square dancing that’s been around since 1947. For over 60 years, every third grader has had the chance to participate as a Hedgehopper, making it a beloved and cherished tradition that brings the entire town together. And this year, we’re taking it up a notch – upper classes will also be showing off their musical talents. Don’t miss out on this incredible showcase of talent and tradition at the Hedgehoppers!

Location: The Auditorium, 36 South Main Street, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.

8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Barefoot Ball

Get your dancing shoes on for the Barefoot Ball! This year, we’re bringing back the old dance halls of yesteryear with Jumpsuit Jamey and the Can’t Wait to Play Boys. Jamey has collected some of the best players in NW Arkansas to play classic honky tonk country hits from the 50’s and 60’s. And don’t worry if you’re not a pro – come early at 8:00pm for a two-step dance lesson to get you ready to boot scoot or dance barefoot all night long. But that’s not all – opening for Jamey is Eureka’s very own NightTimers, featuring Shila Molina and Doc Hopper with their unique style of honky tonk swing. You won’t want to miss this incredible night of music, dancing, and fun at the Barefoot Ballroom in the Basin Hotel.

Location: Basin Park Hotel, 12 Spring Street, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.

They have traveled extensively through the United States, Provinces of Canada, and even parts of Europe clocking over a million miles of travel. Among their accolades are four Grammy nominations, as well as numerous other awards. Trout Fishing in America is an eclectic folk/rock band who plays music for all ages. As individuals they are as different as one can imagine. Together they blend seamlessly in a way that has captured the imagination (and hearts) of audiences of all ages for over four decades.

Matt the Electrician will be opening the show and is a folk-pop musician from San Francisco who broke into the Austin music scene in 1996 after hosting an open mic. His music incorporates various styles of Americana/roots-based acoustic music and his songs are often autobiographical, telling stories of everyday situations with “naïve, straightforward gracefulness.” Known for his unique covers and endearing parade of characters, Sever’s warm rasp has been compared to perfectly softened leather and has been praised for its complexity of feeling.
