52nd Annual Dorian Orchestra Festival

Arts and Entertainment

January 21, 2024

From: Dorian Orchestra Festival

Are you a high school string player? If so, come and participate in the 52nd annual Dorian Orchestra Festival! Students are placed in one of two orchestras: the Festival String Orchestra or the select Chamber Orchestra. The Luther College Symphony Orchestra performs for the festival participants during the weekend, and the two festival orchestras perform in a Grand Concert on Monday evening.

In addition to ensemble rehearsals, students will participate in a techniques class and masterclass led by Luther College String Faculty members. Students will also have the opportunity to receive a 15 minute private lesson from a Luther College faculty member. This lesson may serve as an audition to be an outstanding concert soloist, and it may serve as a music scholarship audition for seniors who are interested in attending Luther College.
