Capital City/Lake Murray Country is proud to host the 34th Annual 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray, presented by Lexington Medical Center!

Patriotic Boat Parade at 12pm at Bomb Island

Enjoy the patriotic display as locals & visitors decorate their boats in ways that will leave you amazed! Viewable from the park sites at the Lake Murray Dam after 1pm or by boat! This year’s theme is “Honoring our Heroes.”

How to Register for the Boat Parade:

It’s easy to register and Free to participate! Fill out the form below, call (803) 781-5940 or stop by the Lake Murray Country Visitors Center (2184 N. Lake Drive, Columbia).  Registration is open through June 28th; entries received between June 23-28th will be accepted, however, information packets must be picked up at the Visitors Center.

There are Cash prizes for the winning boats in the parade: First Place ($400), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200) and Fourth Place ($100).

SC’s Largest Fireworks Show on Lake Murray:

Fireworks will launch at dark (9:15-9:30pm) from two lake locations: Spence Island & Dreher Island. Fireworks DO NOT launch from the park sites at the dam.

Important Information:

All normal fees will apply at the park sites, all boat launching sites and Marinas on Lake Murray.

The fireworks are funded through CCLMC’s efforts at the Taste of Lake Murray each year!

Should thunder and lightning occur and cause a postponement, the fireworks will take place on July 3rd without the parade.
